Kick-off Meeting Launches "European Union Private International Law" Project
On October 16th, the Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) held the official kick-off meeting for its newly awarded project, "European Union Private International Law" (EUPIL). Supported by a €35,000 grant from the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions program, the project, led by Professor Nilufar Rakhmonkulova, has now been officially launched. The meeting finalized key administrative tasks, marking the start of this initiative.
The EUPIL project aims to introduce an advanced "EU Private International Law" module for TSUL bachelor’s students, specifically benefiting those in the Faculty of International Law and Comparative Legislation. This new course will build on the university's existing "Private International Law" course, offering in-depth coverage of EU private international law, including topics such as family, company, and contract law.
In addition to enhancing EU law education at TSUL, the EUPIL project aspires to serve as a model for other Uzbek universities with EU law courses, providing them with a rich methodological foundation. Project outputs will include a comprehensive textbook and research articles on EU Private International Law, contributing to the broader academic landscape in Uzbekistan.
